HOLY ICONS / Hagiography Services Kolonos. HOLY ICONS KOLONOS Hagiographer Themis Petrou is the head and “soul” of the HOLY ICONS workshop. A graduate of Byzantine Hagiography and Conservation of Works of Art, ATHENS and professor of hagiography for a number of years, he has also been the Director of Studies at the GAIA School of Hagiography.

His works can be found in churches and monasteries throughout Greece as well as on Mount Athos. Abroad, he participates in all exhibitions and Clerical Assemblies of the Holy Archdiocese of America. He has painted and is painting important Temples in the USA. We mainly follow the styles and techniques of the Byzantine and Post-Byzantine period, but of course we make use of the possibilities of modern technology. The excellent quality materials & colors we use are certified and always before pasting the canvases, a special technical inspection of the walls is carried out in order to select the appropriate primer.
